SASANIAN KINGS. Ardashir I. AD 224-241. AR drachm (4.40 gm; 25 mm). Mint C ("Ctesiphon"). Diademed bust of Ardashir I right, wearing close-fitting headdress lacking earflaps and with korymbos. Reverse Fire altar with diadems; no attendants. Göbl III/2/2. Lovely style. Sharply struck in high relief. Choice Superb EF. Lightly toned.
