Description
TABARISTAN, Imitation. Circa late 8th to early 9th century AD. Silver Hemidrachm (2.64 gm; 17 mm). Minted in Khazar region north of Caspian Sea. Sasanian Style Bust with blundered form of "Apzut" Reverse: Fire altar and attendants with illegible legend. Struck on a thick planchet. Apparently unpublished and unique. Choice Very Fine. Toned.
