Macedonian Kingdom. Alexander III 'the Great'. 336-323 B.C. AR drachm (16 mm, 3.30 g, 12 h). Magnesia on the Maeander, ca. 323-319 B.C. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion's skin headdress / ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ, Zeus seated left, holding eagle and scepter; in left field, bee left; below throne, A below crescent; in right field, spear-head. Cf. Price 1942 (monogram below throne). Toned. Very fine.
