Seleukid Kingdom. Alexander I Balas. 152/1-145 B.C. AR drachm (17 mm, 3.98 g, 12 h). Antioch on the Orontes, ca. S.E. 164/5 (149/8-148/7 B.C.) Diademed head of Alexander I right / BAΣIΛE[ΩΣ] AΛEΞANΔ[POY] ΘEOΠATOPOΣ EYEPΓETOY, Apollo Delphios seated left on omphalos, testing arrow in his right hand, left hand on bow set on ground to right; monograms to outer left and [in exergue]. SC 1785.5-6; HGC 9, 887a. Gently toned. Very fine.
