ANTIQUITIES, Western Mexico, Colima Figure. ca. 300 BC – 300 AD. An excellent Colima figure from West Mexico, ca. 300 BC – 300 AD. This archaic style male with the characteristic elongated head is 7” tall, has perforated ears and is depicted in the traditional dancer’s pose. In perfect condition, with extensive dendrites, root marks and trails. Mounted on stand. Cf. Leyenaar, Von Kuste Zu Kuste, page 117, for similar examples.
