Lot 304: ANTIQUITIES. A Pair of Chancay Wood Amulets from Peru

A pair of Chancay wood amulets, Peru, c. AD 1100 - 1450, the first in the form of a richly attired man, his headdress, ears pools and clothes decorated with inlaid shell, H: 2 ½” (6.4 cm). Suspension loop through the top of the headdress; the second figure wears a jaguar headdress and holds an object in his left hand, H: 2” (5.1 cm). The second with some minor losses, both with light deposits and weathering. Ex Florida private collection. Value Range: $200-$300.
