SELEUKID KINGDOM, Antiochus VIII Epiphanes (Grypus). 121-96 B.C. AR Tetradrachm (10.09 g, 26 mm). Diademed head right / BASILEWS ANTIOXOY - Eagle standing left on thunderbolt, palm over shoulder. AS-IPP (first P retrograde) across field, dove over altar in left field. Ascalon. Dated SE 197 (116/5 B.C.). SNG Spaer 2606All known examples are shipwreck finds and have similar porosity and low weight. This is one of the nicer examples known to exist. Rare.
