ROMAN REPUBLIC, Anonymous. 311-276 B.C. Aes Grave Triens (86.75 g, 44 mm). Rome mint. Head of mars left wearing crested helmet, four pellets below, all on raised disk / Prow right, four pellets below, all on raised disk. Crawford 35/3a; Sydenham 80. Ex-Elwood Rafn collection. Ex-Personal collection of John Haer. With recent import restrictions on Aes Grave, this is a nice example of a coin with a collecting history which predates the restrictions.
