Phoenicia, Berytus. Pseudo-autonomous issue. 1st century B.C. Æ (21 mm, 6.52 g, 12 h). CY 53 (28/7 B.C.). Laureate head of Ba'al of Berytos (Poseidon) right, trident at shoulder / BHPY-TI, Poseidon driving quadriga of hippocamps left; above, date (L ΓN). Sawaya series 8, 93-99 (D20/R?); RPC 4531; Rouvier 472. Dark brown patina. Very fine.
