Description
Mysia, Pergamon. Ca. 166-67 B.C. AR cistophoric tetradrachm (27 mm, 12.65 g, 12 h). Ca. 104-98 B.C. Serpent crawling from cista mystica with lid ajar; all within ivy wreath / Bow-case with serpents; in left field, monogram of Pergamon; above, ΔI; in right field, thyrsos with serpent coiled about the staff. Kleiner 12; SNG BN 1719. Lightly toned. Obverse off center. Extremely fine.
