Islands off Caria, Rhodes. Ca. 168-88 B.C. AR hemidrachm (13 mm, 1.15 g, 12 h). Melantas, magistrate. Radiate head of Helios facing slightly right / P-O, rose with bud to right; above, magistrate's name: MEΛANTAΣ; in left field, winged thunderbolt. Cf. Jenkins grp. D (unrecorded symbol); cf. SNG Keckman 666-7 (same). Nice find patina. Very fine.
