A marvelous Maya head fragment from the Quiche area of Guatemala, c. 400 – 800 AD. This choice polychrome example is 2-7/8” high and depicts an individual with filed teeth and a pronounced forelock. Vivid paint, good mineral deposits, mounted on stand. Ex Melnick collection. Value range: $175 - $250
