A fine Chimu double-chambered vessel from Peru, c. 1100 - 1450 AD. This unusual double-chambered blackware example is 6-1/4" high. The chambers are executed in the form of two nicely detailed pepinos that are connected by a latticework bridge, which is topped by an adorable monkey. Excellent workmanship, good mineral deposits. Ex Sarmiento collection. Value range: $350 - $450.
