Lot 213: ANTIQUITIES. A beautiful Daunian lidded stamnos

A beautiful Daunian lidded stamnos, Italic, 4th Century BC, with squat body and two loop handles, the lid well-fitted with knob handle. The body decorated with dark brown concentric bands just below the shoulder, incised lines beneath. The lid with dark brown concentric bands and dashes on the handles. H: 4 5/8” (11.8 cm). Intact, small chip on underside of lid. A very attractive vessel! Ex Orange County private collection. Value Range: $500-$600.
