BITHYNIA, Nicomedia. Vespasian. AD 69-79. Æ (19.56 gm; 34 mm). Marcus Salvidenus Asprenas, proconsul. Laureate head right / Legend in five lines within wreath. RPC II -, but cf. 648 for a nearly identical coin naming the proconsul Marcus Plancius Varus. Seemingly unpublished. Lovely strike on a nice broad flan. Some minor smoothing on the obverse field. Elegant style. Original green patina. Choice EF. Extremely rare.
