Description
SASANIAN EMPIRE. Circa 4th-5th. Century AD. Magi Mobed Seal (9.82 gm; 26mm x 20mm x 8mm). Mobed (Priest) standing facing left, praying with hand in the air, in front of the fire altar. Repetition of letters such as "Z", "Y", "M", "P" and letter "H" circling the image. Might be a reference to a paryer known to the owner of the seal. In front of the image fire altar and letters "mgyw" (Mobed) and letters "ZPHRGW" for name. Has a suspension hole in the middle. Excellent condition. Extremely Rare.
