Enameled Gold Reliquary Cross. Europe, XIV-XVI Century AD. Gold reliquary Latin cross pendent. Front with raised Cross Chechee’. on a green enamel Latin Cross field. Back side is plain gold. Edge is plain gold with roped border on back edge. Gold suspension loop on top of three sets of three loops (also functioning as a hinge). Sealed closed, possibly still containing its relic. 50 x 35 mm, 4 mm thick, weight 27.31 g. Wearable on modern chain. Very impressive large cross. Ex. Mark Bir collection.
