SELEUKID KINGS of SYRIA. Demetrios I Soter. 162-150 BC. AR Tetradrachm (31mm - 16.54 g). Antioch mint. Diademed head right within wreath / Tyche seated left, holding baton and cornucopia; winged Tritoness supporting throne, monogram to outer left. SC 1640.1b; SNG Spaer 1264; SMA 100. VF, some cleaning scratches behind head.

The title Soteros "savior" first appears on Demetrios' coinage about 156/5 BC in the western part of his empire.
