Attica, Athens. Ca. 165-42 B.C. AR tetradrachm (30 mm, 16.75 g, 12 h). 121/0 B.C. Karaich..., Ergokle(s), and Mena..., magistrates. Helmeted head of Athena right / Owl standing right, head facing, on overturned amphora; across field, magistrates'' names: KA-ΡAIΧ, EΡΓO-KΛE, and ME/NA; in right field, prow of gally; on amphora, Γ; in exergue, ME; all within wreath. Thompson 527b; HGC 4, 1602. Nice, clear details and an especially pleasing reverse. Very fine.
