Ptolemaic Kingdom. Ptolemy I Soter. As Satrap, 323-305 B.C. Fourrée tetradrachm (27 mm, 15.08 g, 11 h). Memphis (or Alexandria?), in the name of Alexander III, ca. 323/2-317/1 B.C. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion''s skin headdress / AΛEΞANΔPOY, Zeus seated left, holding eagle and scepter; in left field, rose; below throne, Δ-IO. Cf. Price 3971. Core exposed slightly on reverse. Toned. Very fine.
