Isaac II Angelus. 1185-1195. EL aspron trachy (31 mm, 3.92 g, 6 h). Constantinople. The Virgin Mary enthroned facing, holding head of the infant Christ on her lap / Isaac standing facing, holding cross-tipped scepter and akakia, being crowned by St. Michael the Archangel, standing facing, holding jeweled scepter. DOC 2; SB 2002. Toned, somewhat flattened, numerous tiny scratches in margins. Good very fine.
