Description
An Egyptian steatite scarab and a scaraboid. The scaraboid, Late Middle Kingdom - 2nd Intermediate, c. 1759 - 1570 BC, with base incised with symbols of protection and power, 21x15mm; the scarab, New Kingdom, c. 1570 - 1075 BC, with nicely carved body and legs, the base with a reclining feline or ram wearing a headdress consisting of twin feathers and ram’s horns, the goddess Ma’at seated before, holding a feather, 16x11mm. Both nice examples! Ex Los Angeles private collection. Value Range $250-$350.
