The last is a Roman type from Palestine, c. 3rd - 4th Century AD, mold made, with convex lower part, flat top and sharp carination. The large fill-hole with raised rim in encircled by a disk containing ovolo, concentric ridges around. At back pinched handle and the spout in short with rounded nozzle. On bottom, flattened base set off by shallow ring, vertical ridge at the back joining the base of the handle. L: 3 ½” (8.9 cm). Intact, some wear, age crack, and soot around the nozzle from use in antiquity. An interesting group of items from everyday life. Ex Los Angeles private collection. Value Range $300 - $400.
