Macedonia, Philippi. Pseudo-autonomous issue. Mid 1st century A.D. Æ (17 mm, 3.99 g, 12 h). Under Claudius or Nero, ca. A.D. 41-68. VIC AVG across field, Nike standing left on base, holding wreath and palm / COHOR PRAE PHIL around, three standards. RPC 1651; SNG ANS 674. Green patina, a couple of spots of light green (possibly active bronze disease, although it is hard, not soft and powdery). Good very fine.
