Description
BRUTTIUM. Kaulonia. Circa 400-389/8 BC. AR Nomos (20mm - 7.76 g). Apollo advancing right, holding laurel branch overhead, fillets hanging from extended left arm; monogram behind / Stag standing right. Noe 176 (same dies); SNG ANS 212 (same dies); HN Italy 2062. VF, toned, old scratch on obverse, some horn silver on the reverse.
This is the last issue of Kaulonia struck before 389/8 BC when the city was destroyed by Dionysos I of Syracuse.
