COMMONWEALTH. 1649-1660. AR Halfcrown (35mm - 14.59 g). Dated 1653. Shield of St. George within wreath; mm: sun / Conjoined shields of St. George and Ireland. ESC 431; North 2722; SCBC 3215. Fine, darkly toned and porous with two deep bumps and an old scuff. Reportedly found in the Thames River.
