Trajan. A.D. 98-117. AR denarius (20 mm, 3.08 g, 6 h). Rome, A.D. 112/3. IMP TRAIANO AVG GER DAC P M TR P COS VI P P, laureate bust of Trajan right, slight drapery on far shoulder / S P Q R OPTIMO PRINCIPI, ARAB ADQ in exergue, Arabia standing facing, head left, holding branch and bundle of canes; to left, small camel standing left. RIC 245; Woytek 396b; BMC 474; RSC 26. Small planchet flaw on obverse. Lightly toned. Good very fine.

The reverse signifies Trajan''s annexation of the Nabataean Kingdom and the creation of the province of Arabia Petraea.
