Gordian III. A.D. 238-244. Æ sestertius (29 mm, 23.21 g, 12 h). Rome, A.D. 243. IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Gordian III right / P M TR P VI CO II P P, S C in exergue, Apollo seated left, holding branch and resting elbow on lyre. RIC 304a. Dark brown, almost black patina. Very fine.
