Description
Ptolemaic Kingdom. Ptolemy VIII Euergetes II (Physcon). Second reign, 145-116 B.C. AR tetradrachm (25 mm, 13.75 g, 12 h). Salamis, RY 33 (138/7 B.C.). Diademed bust of Ptolemy I right, wearing aegis / ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΠΤΟΛΕΜΑΙΟΥ, eagle standing left on thunderbolt; in left field, date (L ΛΓ ); in right field, ΣΑ. Svoronos 1543; SNG Copenhagen 577. Well centered and sharp strike. Extremely fine.
