Description
Parthian Kingdom. Vardanes I. Ca. A.D. 38-46. AR tetradrachm (27 mm, 13.92 g, 12 h). Seleukeia on the Tigris, S.E. 355 (September A.D. 44). Diademed bust of Vardanes I left, wearing spiral torque / King enthroned right, receiving palm branch from Tyche standing facing, head left, holding cornucopiae; above, year (ЄNT); in exergue, month (off flan). Sellwood 64.20-27; Shore 350-1. Light graffiti in obverse field. Very fine.
