Roman. Carnelian intaglio depicting Minerva. 1st-3rd centuries A.D. Engraved figure of Minerva standing left, draped in a long chiton and wearing a crested helmet, holding a spear supporting a grounded shield behind her. Dimensions: 8 x 14 x 2 mm. Light deposits, and a couple of hairline cracks extending from chips on the reverse edge.
