Description
Roman. A lot of two bronze intaglio insets for rings. 2nd-3rd centuries A.D. The first depicts a radiate figure of Sol, standing right, a small fold of his cloak draped over his arm, hold a whip and extending his arm. Dimensions: 14 x 10 mm. The second depicts a very crude figure of Victory standing right. Dimensions: 10 x 11.5 mm. The first shows some wear and a small edge chip near Sol''s foot, and has a black-green patina, the second is crude as noted, has some corrosion on the reverse side, and has a rich deep-brown patina.
