Macedonian Kingdom. Alexander III ''the Great''. 336-323 B.C. AV stater (19 mm, 8.40 g, 1 h). Sinope, ca. 230-200 B.C. Head of Athena right, wearing crested Corinthian helmet with coiled serpent on bowl / [ΑΛΕ]ΞΑΝΔΡ[ΟΥ], Nike standing left, holding wreath and stylis; in left field, star and ΔΙ above ΣΙ; below right wing, monogram. Price 1247; Newell 24. Numerous tiny cuts on part of edge. Choice very fine.
