M COMMODVS ANT[ONINVS] PIVS FELIX AVG BRIT, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Commodus right / P M T[R P XII IMP] VIII [CO-S V P P] around, [TEL]LVS ST[ABIL] in exergue, Tellus reclining left, hand resting on star-studded globe and elbow resting on basket of frui; behind, vine branch from which hangs grapes above; around, figures of the Four Seasons. Gnecchi 127 = Cohen 715; Szaivert 1123-1/37; Banti 389; cf. Grueber 110; cf. Froehner p. 130; Tocci -; cf. Dressel 79; cf. Toynbee p. 93. Very rare and an interesting type. Pitting and corrosion (the corrosion appears to be inactive). Brown patina. Very fine / fine.
