SASANIAN KINGS. Shapur I (240-270 AD). AR Drachm (3.90 gm; 25 mm). Obverse; Shapur's bust turning right, crown with earflap for standard issue reverse; fire altar with attendants, no monogram or dots on the obverse or reverse which makes it scarce, SNS Type IIc/1c (1d)-VF; Sunrise 744var. Struck on metal melted from captured Roman Antonioni. Choice VF. Rare.
