PONTIC KINGDOM, Mithradates VI. 120-63 BC. Gold Stater (8.28 gm; 19 mm). Callatis mint. Struck in the type of Lysimachus, ca. 88-86 BC. Head right of the deified Alexander the Great wearing the horn of Ammon above ear. Reverse: Athena Nikephoros enthroned left; mintmark on throne; beneath, trident. Cf. SNG Cop 1089; Müller 266.
