Description
A large Indus Valley ceramic jar, 3rd Millennium BC, with vertical walls flaring slightly outward and flattened top with central opening with short rim. The sides nicely decorated geometric designs of varying thickness, resembling leopard spots. H: 5 3/4" (14.6 cm); W: 7 1/2" (19 cm). Intact with original uncleaned earthen deposits. An interesting vessel with more unusual decoration than commonly seen. Ex Los Angeles private collection. Value Range $400 - $500.
