Lot 235: ANTIQUITIES. A Choice Etruscan Bucchero Lidded Stamnos

A choice Etruscan bucchero lidded Stamnos, Italic, c. 570 - 500 BC, with mottled grey-black burnished surfaces decorated with incised narrow bands. The body tapers to a wide foot, two loop handles attached at the shoulder and a vertical rim. The lid fits well over the rim and is well-formed with knob handle. H: 7”; W: 7 ¾”. Small area of restoration on the rim and few minor chip on edge of lid, otherwise intact with light deposits. Ex Orange County private collection. Value Range: $1000-$1200.
