PTOLEMAIC KINGDOM, Ptolemy I, Soter. As satrap, 323-305 B.C. AR tetradrachm (15.49 g, 28.0 mm). Reduced standard. Alexandreia mint. Struck in the name of Alexander III of Macedon, circa 305 BC. Diademed head of the deified Alexander right, wearing elephant skin and aegis / ALEXANDROU - Athena Alkidemos advancing right, preparing to hurl spear and holding shield; monogram to inner left and right; to outer right, monogram above eagle standing right on thunderbolt. Svoronos 146, SNG Cop 18. aVF, scratches and minor pitting.
