Germanicus. died A.D. 19. Æ Dupondius (14.92 g, 29.5 mm). Rome, A.D. 37-41. GERMANICVS CAESAR in 2 lines above Germanicus driving triumphal quadriga right, holding eagle-tipped scepter / SIGNIS - RECEPT / DEVICTIS - GERM / S - C across field divided by Germanicus standing left raising hand and holding Aquila. RIC 57 (Gaius); BMCRE 93-100 (Caligula). Struck at Rome by Caligula (37-41 AD) to commemorate the recovery from the Germans by his father, Germanicus, of the standards of the lost legions of Varus
