Description
Ptolemaic Kingdom. Ptolemy XII Neos Dionysos (Auletes). Restored, 55-51 B.C. AR tetradrachm (24 mm, 13.36 g, 12 h). Alexandria, regnal year 28 (54/3 B.C.). Diademed head of Ptolemy I right, aegis tied at neck / ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΠΤΟΛΕΜΑΙΟΥ, eagle standing left on thunderbolt; in left field, date (L KH) above headdress of Isis; in right field, ΠΑ. Svoronos 1837; SNG Copenhagen 395. Toned, minor surface roughness. Very fine.
