Vespasian. A.D. 69-79. Æ dupondius (28 mm, 13.51 g, 5 h). Lugdunum, A.D. 77/8. IMP CAES VESPASIAN AVG COS VIII P P, laureate head of Vespasian right, globe at point of bust / FIDES PVBLICA, S C across field, Fides standing facing, head left, holding patera and cornucopiae. RIC 1210; Lyon 76; BMC 828. Two-toned brown and tan patina with hints of green, light porosity. Very fine.
