Gordian III. A.D. 238-244. AR denarius (20 mm, 3.01 g, 12 h). Rome, A.D 241. IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Gordian III right, seen from behind / SECVRITAS PVBLICA, Securitas seated left, holding scepter in right hand, supporting head on left hand. RIC 130; RSC 340. Well struck and lustrous. Spotty cabinet toning on the obverse, small deposit on the reverse. Extremely fine.
