ANTONINUS PIUS. 138-161 AD. Æ Sestertius (33mm - 22.62 g). Rome mint. Struck 143-144 AD. ANTONINVS AVG PI-VS PP TR P COS III, laureate head right / IMPER-AT-OR II, [BRITANNIA] in exergue, S-C across fields, Britannia seated left on rock, holding standard in right hand, spear in left, left elbow resting on shield which is set on a helmet. RIC III 745; BMCRE pg. 264 +; Cohen 119. VF, brown patina. Rare.

Pius was acclaimed imperator for the second time following the victory of Q. Lollius Urbicus over the Brigantes in Britain, and the construction of the Antonine Wall.
