Description
Macedonian Kingdom. Alexander III 'the Great'. 336-323 B.C. Fourrée tetradrachm (25 mm, 12.97 g, 6 h). Contemporary imitation. Copying Side(?), ca. 325-320 B.C. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion's skin headdress / ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ, Zeus seated left, holding eagle and scepter; in left field, wreath; below throne, ΔΙ. Cf. Price 2949. Good style obverse, barbarous reverse. Light porosity. Good very fine.
