Description
Macedonian Kingdom. Alexander III 'the Great'. 336-323 B.C. AR tetradrachm (27 mm, 17.04 g, 12 h). Babylon, lifetime issue, 325-324/3 B.C. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion's skin headdress / ΑΛΕΧΑΝΔΡΟΥ, Zeus seated left, holding eagle and scepter; in left field, torch; below throne, monogram above M. Price 3643. Light scratch on cheek, and graffiti in field of reverse. Very fine.
