Seleukid Kingdom. Alexander I Balas. 152/1-145 B.C. Æ (20 mm, 9.83 g, 12 h). Uncertain mint in Phoenicia or Koile Syria. Diademed and radiate head of Alexander I right / ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ [Α]ΛΕΞΑΝΔ[ΡΟΥ], Zeus enthroned left, holfing eagle snd scepter; controls illegible. SC 1854; HGC 9, 916. Rare issue of Balas. Mottled sandy dark green, brown and red patina. Fine.
