Description
ANTIQUITIES, Moche Figural Jar from Peru. A large Moche figural jar from Peru, ca, 400 – 700 AD. This superbly detailed vessel is 11” high and depicts an individual wearing large ear ornaments and a complex headdress. The face is wonderfully expressive, his hands are molded in relief and set off with incising and paint. His mantle is indicated with red slip. Good mineral deposits.
