Description
A Lambayeque (Sican) double-chambered whistle bottle from Peru, c. 700 – 1300 AD. This large greyware example is 8” high, 8-1/2” long and features a seated figure as the primary chamber. He is depicted with legs crossed, hands resting on the knees and is wearing a fancy headdress and ear ornaments. The rear chamber is connected with a broad strap handle which hides the whistle. In excellent condition, with good mineral deposits and clear tone. Ex Pachenko collection. Value range: $500 - $700.
