France, Feudal. Languedoc. Melgueil (bishopric). 12th-13th centuries A.D. AR denier (17 mm, 1.08 g). Imitating Narbonne. Cross formed of fasces / Four annulets in cruciform pattern. Boudeau 753; Duplessy 1578; Roberts 4336. Ver lustrous with light toning and a small patch of green encrustation. Superb extremely fine.
